EFG Elektrik Enerji Anonim Şirketi (AŞ), which has experienced rapid growth in Turkey’s energy sector over the past 10 years, has expanded into the global market through its investments and growth initiatives.

According to a statement from the company, the firm—whose story began in Diyarbakır in 2015 and has accelerated its growth since its inception—took its first steps toward expansion in 2016 with a capital transfer and the opening of a new factory.

In 2019, the company began operations at a new factory on a 29,000-square-meter site in Diyarbakır. In 2021, EFG Elektrik obtained a “Domestic Product Certificate” for its SF6 disconnecting mechanisms and vacuum circuit breaker-equipped input/output cells, shifting its focus toward domestic and national production.

In 2023, the company transitioned to a joint-stock company and adopted the name EFG Elektrik Enerji A.Ş. Its primary area of operation was defined as the production of high-voltage (36 kilovolts) switching products for industrial facilities and the electricity generation, transmission, and distribution sectors.

Entering the international arena that same year by making its first export to Vietnam—while simultaneously accelerating its domestic projects—EFG Elektrik strengthened its position in the sector by winning tenders from Dicle Elektrik Dağıtım AŞ, AKEDAŞ, and VEDAŞ.

In addition, the company established various joint ventures for the construction of low- and high-voltage electrical facilities in Adıyaman, Kahramanmaraş, and Elbistan.

EFG Elektrik, which began operations in Diyarbakır 10 years ago with a capital of 300,000 lira, has demonstrated significant growth—both economically and within the sector—extending from domestic production to the global market, with a capital level of 523 million lira today, modern production facilities, and export capacity.
