At EFG Elektrik, quality management systems are approached as an integrated framework that encompasses not only production but also environmental responsibility, traceability, and customer trust. Amine Yücel, Quality Management Systems Specialist, explained how quality, the environment, and sustainability are integrated at EFG Elektrik, and how this system—which spans from production to the field—is operated.

EFG Elektrik positions quality in all its processes—from production to the field—not merely as a control mechanism, but as a holistic management approach that is addressed alongside environmental responsibility, traceability, and sustainability. This structure, in which every stage from raw materials to the final product is documented, not only enhances the effectiveness of internal audit processes but also fosters a transparent and trust-based relationship with customers. Amine Yücel, a Quality Management Systems Specialist who evaluated EFG Elektrik’s approach to quality, environmental, and integrated management systems, described the company’s methodology from a broad perspective—ranging from quality management to ISO standards, from type testing to environmental sensitivity, and from human resources to export targets.

“QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS ARE THE BACKBONE OF A COMPANY”

Quality management systems, along with production and R&D processes, form the foundation of a company. According to Amine Yücel, these systems ensure not only the final product but also that every stage the product goes through before being brought to market is defined, documented, and made traceable.

Emphasizing that no component can be released to the production floor without proper records and documentation, Yücel states that the entire process—from customer feedback to production line controls, and from raw material selection to final product testing—is addressed within the scope of quality management.

“WHEN YOU COMPLY WITH ISO STANDARDS, A HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCT IS INEVITABLY THE RESULT”

ISO standards define how quality production should be carried out through clear headings and criteria. Every step—from the selection of appropriate raw materials to processing and assembly, and from the production line to final inspections and the finishing process—is shaped according to these standards.

Amine Yücel explains that ISO compliance isn’t just about obtaining a certificate; the real value lies in having product quality recognized on an international scale. Thanks to this, EFG Elektrik can easily expand into both domestic and international markets.

“FOR US, EVERYTHING IS CRUCIAL—FROM THE SMALLEST PART TO THE LARGEST”

From the quality department’s perspective, it is impossible to distinguish one part from another. Noting that even the smallest component has the potential to cause problems in the field years later, Yücel emphasizes that all parts are therefore evaluated as a whole.

The most critical aspect of this approach is the type testing conducted during the final stage of production. No product that fails type testing is shipped to the field; non-compliant products are set aside and re-evaluated.

“WE DO NOT SHIP PRODUCTS THAT FAIL QUALITY TESTING TO THE FIELD”

EFG Elektrik places great importance on type testing and certification processes. All testing and certification processes—including TSI certifications—are documented. The ability to conduct tests in-house both streamlines the inspection process and enhances customer confidence.

If even the smallest issue is detected in a component during type testing, the product is always re-evaluated before being released to the field.

“QUALITY, ENVIRONMENT, AND OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY ARE ALL UNDER ONE ROOF”

At EFG Elektrik, quality, environment, and occupational health and safety are managed collectively under an integrated management system. The ISO 9001 quality, ISO 14001 environmental, and ISO 45001 occupational health and safety standards are implemented simultaneously.

Waste generated after production is never released into the environment. Waste is sorted by type, stored in designated areas, and disposed of through licensed companies. All processes are carried out under expert supervision and are fully documented.

“THE CUSTOMER’S GREATEST EXPECTATION IS A PROMPT RESPONSE”

Speed and a solution-oriented approach are at the top of customer expectations. The technical team is on-site 24/7 and can quickly reach any location in the country.

Even if the source of the problem does not originate from EFG Elektrik, we do not leave the site until the customer’s issue is resolved. In addition, type tests, ISO certifications, and all technical documentation are provided to customers in full upon request.

“WE DON’T WANT KNOWLEDGE TO DISAPPEAR WHEN PEOPLE LEAVE”

Human resources are at the top of the list of priorities in future planning. Emphasizing that the path to reducing quality costs and increasing first-time-right production lies in training, Yücel notes that technical training is provided to operators.

The goal is to ensure that knowledge does not disappear along with individuals and to strengthen the company’s institutional memory. Investments in digital transformation also constitute a key part of this objective.

“WE AIM TO INCREASE OUR EXPORT TARGETS BY 2026”

EFG Elektrik plans to expand its export targets and enter new markets in the coming period. In line with this, full compliance with international standards is a top priority. Even the smallest internal unit is meticulously monitored, and the systematic structure is continuously improved.

“THIS IS A FIELD THAT NEVER STANDS STILL—IT’S CONSTANTLY EVOLVING”

Quality management systems are not limited to graduates of a specific department. Anyone seeking to develop their skills can advance in this field. Amine Yücel emphasizes that topics such as carbon footprint and sustainability will become mandatory in the coming years, creating a significant need for human resources in this area.

Thanks to constantly updated standards, quality management will continue to be a sustainable and dynamic field for many years to come.
